The article describes the development and implementation of a disaster prevention education program for young people using the DITS/DIMS disaster information sharing system.

Special exhibition held at the entrance on the second floor of the new building of MEXT

A special exhibition called “Using Satellite and Social Media to Create a Safe and Secure Society – Glocal Monitoring Project -” was held from August 20 to September 23 at the entrance of the second floor of the new building of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Many people were able to enjoy the exhibition. We would like to thank everyone involved.

Keynote speech at SPAR 2020 J “The 16th 3D Measurement Forum”

Professor Kohei Cho gave the keynote lecture at the SPAR 2020 J the 16th 3D Measurement Forum, which was held online on September 28, 2020, with the theme of “Efforts for Glocal Monitoring.” One participant said, “It made me very interested in the use of social media in normal times and in times of disaster.” Other comments included, “I thought it was very effective as a means to quickly and accurately identify the extent of damage,” and “It was interesting how combining different types of information—global and local—can be useful and improve accuracy.”
