Professor Kohei Cho and Professor Osamu Uchida were invited to give a lecture entitled “Glocal Monitoring: A New Approach to Disaster Monitoring” at Sendai Technical High School for the annual lecture session given on March 11, the day of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Professor Uchida appeared as a lecturer on the use of social media in times of disaster on TOKYO FM’s Mirai Jugyo (Future Lessons). His appearances aired from March 4 to 7 .

The Second International Workshop on Glocal Monitoring was held on February 21 and 22 at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
At the workshop, 10 researchers from China, Taiwan, the US, Japan, and the Philippines, presented their research on monitoring disaster situations and environmental changes using remote sensing. It also included discussions with a total of about 100 participants, including participants from various institutions in the Philippines.
We designed and developed the road reporting system Michi-Repo at the request of Hiratsuka City. The system was officially launched on March 1.
